Active Self-Respect

Willing to settle down and take a deep breath. Psalm 46:10

Clean Pain

Falling together rather than falling apart, taking in the emotions rather than getting them out of your system. A growing and maturing intimacy with our shame allows us to kiss it good-bye, learning to tolerate it's pain without holding on to it. Job 11:15

Sharp

Well-surrounded rather than well-rounded. Proverbs 27:17

Lip Service

Big hat and no cattle. Proverbs 14:4

Self-fulfillment

The focus is often on damage control instead of self-developement, on one's weaknesses rather than on one's strengths. Our potential to grow is through our strengths. They are how we are uniquely wired and most of our energy should be geared toward them.

Insight vs Truth

Insight doesn't set you free but reveals where the real fight(issue) is.

Quietness

Hearing the presence of peace, not the absence of sound. Zephaniah 3:17

Seasoned

Able to lead in the gray area of the intangibles.

Healing

From the seesaw to the swing.

Facials

Non-verbal communication. James 4:9,10

Forgiveness

I distinctly remember forgetting that. Psalm 103:9-12

Owning It

Putting words to how you feel. What you know in your head is now heartfelt. 1 Corinthians 14:15

Painful Distractions

The distraction of pain is less painful than the pain of distraction. We've all heard at one time or another "You're such a pain". The pain of that statement lies in the blow to our pride. We take it personally and become distracted.

Our pride keeps us focused on ourselves. We can't bear to have our weaknesses revealed so we begin to channel all of our energies to the painful acceptance of hating our weaknesses.

Then we begin to believe the overly simplistic meaning behind "no pain, no gain" instead of “present pain with gain, future gain less distracted”. Philippians 3:10,11

The pain of distraction is more painful than the distraction of pain.
