For Against

The statement I hear repeatedly in most conversations is "I don't want ...." We are trained to know what we don't want because we are mostly told what not to do. That creates fear of freedom, anxiety misinterpreted as frustration, and resistance to courage. It's not about what you want or what you are against as much as what you are for. Everyone looks the same when against. What you are for distinguishes the message that makes a difference from the protest that only can make a point against a point of difference.

Venting

Venting more often invents than ventilates the heart and mind.

Fear

An emotion in its own ocean. A feeling often unable to associate with other feelings.

Mentoring

Sometimes giving, sometimes simply arranging the environment of the mind so one can stand or think on one's feet.

Valentine

A fearless original opinion.

Erase for Context

Pursuing answers to the right questions involves unlearning the corrupted approaches that blind us to a broader range of allowable evidence. Stop the racing mind from indecisive argumentative paralysis. Pause long enough to quietly erase learned defensive behaviors and thinking so the meat of the race doesn't milk your strength and clarity.

Mentoring

Firmly challenging with a cutting edge to remove the jagged edges that discourage and confuse.

Half Baked

A piece of peace that crumbles at every turn.

Suffering

Enlarges the heart by creating the power to sympathize.

Gentleness

Soft music from a powerful speaker.

The Timing is Ripe

The rhythm of timing is seasoned reasoning within a reasonable season.

Slander

Firing cheap shots from a handy weapon

Flourishing

The goal of maturity independent of the maturity of a goal.

Defensiveness

Emotional weakness that prevents the confession that "I don't know what you meant"  and prevents the question "So can you tell me more?".

Gloomy Room

I meet with many who believe they are the smartest one in the room. Why is it they appear the most cynical, full of gloom?
